Course Overview
The Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting (Childcare First Aid) course equips participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to respond effectively to first aid emergencies involving infants, children, and adults in childcare environments.
This comprehensive course covers essential topics such as:
- DRSABCD
- Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with ARC Guidelines
- Automated External Defibrillator (AED) operation
- First aid principles
- Incident reporting
- Participation in various scenarios
Course Requirements
Participants who are interested to join must possess the following:
- 18 years old and above
- Computer literacy skills
- Have a basic understanding of spoken and written English
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a statement of attainment (certificate) for the following units:
- HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Course Duration
Participants will engage in a blended learning approach consisting of online self-paced theory training and assessment, complemented by 5 hours of practical in-class training.
